Active School Flag

SUCCESS! We are delighted to announce that we have recently received an Active Flag. This flag is a testament to all the physical education that takes place across all classes in the school. Well done everyone!!!

Active School Week takes place May 24th-28th in Scoil Pádraig Naofa. Our committee members (2 children from each class) will put forward suggestions for activities which can take place during this week in a safe, fun and active way. We will also have fun challenge videos for each class to complete to get everyone moving!

All classes participated in an Active School Flag 'Run Around Ireland' challenge. Each class was given destinations around Ireland to reach such as Cliffs of Moher, Aran Irelands, Newgrange and more. We reached these destinations by running and walking on our fantastic newly surfaced track over a 4 week period. These active movement breaks give the children an opportunity to move and re-energise. This challenge has many cross curricular links; calculating distance in Maths, locations of Ireland in Geography and researching historical landmarks in History.
